Pitlochry
If you're wondering what it feels like to visit a salmon ladder in the first days of January, I can tell you from experience it's very, very cold - but worth it just to see the reflection of the trees and hills on the water (though walking on icy slush downhill is quite a tricky endeavor). Pitlochry was so incredibly charming - I'd love to go on holiday when the temperatures are a bit higher!
Perth
Long walks, thrift store shopping, and lots of people watching...a relaxing, ordinary, happy day.
Edinburgh by Day
On very little sleep, Michael and I roamed the city - playing tourists, keeping warm by stopping in pubs for food and a hot beverage. Seven miles of walking after more than a day of traveling was exhausting but exhilarating. This city is so beautiful.
Edinburgh at Night
After a very long journey from California to Scotland (complete with delayed flights and seats taken from me), Michael surprised me with a hotel upon my arrival to explore Edinburgh a bit. It was freezing but so lovely! (except for the part where I was pretty sure my toes might actually fall off)
